Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress, best well-known for her films on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the TV show The Mentalist. She is a graduate of the BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue was born in the United States and is an American actor as well as a producer and director. She has worked in both film and television. She began her career as an actress in theatre and then went on to be a part of numerous television shows, as well as independent and mainstream films. She became famous as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico in addition to appearing on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she won critical acclaim as well as various awards and nominations, among them her first award, the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress.
